Former Rulani Mokwena’s goalkeeper coach Sean Louw has joined Betway Premiership side Chippa United to intensify the club’s fight to avoid relegation.
The Chilli Boys have had a dismal start to the 2025/26 season after struggling for a consistent winning form. Chippa find themselves rooted at the bottom of the league table, and they would need to turn their fortunes soon to survive the axe to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The Eastern Cape side has registered only one win, four draws, and eight defeats in 13 matches played in the Betway Premiership. Meanwhile, Chippa also holds the second-worst defensive record in the league, conceding 21 goals, one behind Orbit College FC, which has leaked 22 goals.
Chippa United’s turbulent start to the campaign saw them make coaching changes four times as they seek redemption. Chippa had Sinethemba Badela, Musa Nyatama, and Luc Eymael before roping in Vusumuzi Vilakazi for a second stint.
SEAN LOUW REJOINS CHIPPA UNITED

Vilakazi has a daunting task to help Chippa retain their top-flight status. ‘Kanu’ is capable of turning things around after helping Richards Bay FC survive relegation in the PSL Relegation/Promotional Playoffs two seasons ago.
In a bid to pull a gallant fight, Chippa have welcomed Sean Louw as the goalkeeper coach to improve on conceding goals. Louw is rejoining the Chippa Mpengesi-owned team after leaving the club at the start of last season to join Rulani Mokwena at Wydad Athletic Club.
The highly-rated coach spent one season in Morocco with Mokwena before going out of the exit after the technical team struggled to formulate a consistent winning team. After the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach took over the head coaching job at Algerian side MC Alger alongside a new goalkeeper coach, Wendell Robinson, Louw returned to his familiar territory, Chippa.
