Chippa United remain at the bottom as draws dominate Betway Prem

Magesi FC against Marumo Gallants in a Betway Premiership

Lowly Chippa United remained at the foot of the Betway Premiership table after a goalless draw with Siwelele FC, while two other matches ended in stalemates.

On Sunday, Marumo Gallants came from behind to earn a 1‑1 draw with Magesi at Dr Molemela Stadium. Magesi started the match on the front foot, dominating possession, while Gallants were slow to move out of their blocks. Dikwena Tša Meetse took the lead after 27 minutes through Kgomotso Mosadi.

Gallants were forced to make a substitution, pulling out Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo for Jaisen Clifford in the 35th minute. Clifford made an immediate impact, equalising in the 42nd minute, and the teams went into halftime level. Despite a hard‑fought second half, no further goals were scored.

As a result, Gallants are now 11th on the Betway Premiership table with 15 points, while Magesi are 15th with 11 points.

CHIPPA UNITED WOES MOUNT AS THEY REMAIN AT THE BOTTOM

At the same venue, Dr Molemela Stadium on Saturday, Siwelele FC and Chippa United settled for a goalless draw. Going into the fixture, Siwelele had managed only four wins in 13 games, while Chippa United could point to just one victory.

In short, Chippa United’s season has been disappointing, and all hopes are pinned on Vusumuzi Vilakazi to help the Chilli Boys turn the corner. Vincent Pule almost broke the deadlock in the opening five minutes, firing a low shot from a through ball by Siviwe Magidigidi that just missed the target.

Lehlohonolo Seema’s side continued to dominate the chances in the final stages of the first half, with Relebohile Mokhuoane also wasting good opportunities. Siwelele are now 11th with 15 points from 14 matches, while the Chilli Boys remain rooted at the bottom with eight points.

Both teams were slow to move out of their blocks, though Galaxy dominated possession. Polokwane City created the better chances, but neither side could find the net. After 13 matches, Polokwane City and TS Galaxy occupy sixth and seventh place respectively, each with 20 points.
