CT City thrash AmaTuks, Baroka boost relegation fight

Cape Town City FC thrashed AmaTuks 4-0 in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on Saturday afternoon, while Baroka FC beat Black Leopards 3-1 to boost their relegation fight.

The Citizens have been in a good run of form recently after a dismal start to life in the Championship. CT City are in their first season in the second division after being relegated from the Betway Premiership last season.

They are unbeaten in their last four matches in the league after last tasting a defeat against Baroka at the beginning of November. In their last four matches, the Cape Town-based side claimed wins against Black Leopards, Lerumo Lions, AmaTuks, and drew against Upington City FC.

Elsewhere, Baroka jumped out of the basement of the league table after a convincing 3-1 win against Black Leopards in the Limpopo Derby. Baroka have had a challenging run in the 2025/26 season, struggling for a consistent winning form. So far, Bakgakga have won three games, drawn two, and lost eight times in 13 matches.
