Kaizer Chiefs striker Flavio da Silva has hailed what he says was a winning mentality he saw from the team after the 1-1 draw against Zamalek SC on Saturday.

Chiefs and Zamalek played to an entertaining draw in their CAF Confederation Cup encounter at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

Amakhosi conceded a goal as early as the third minute of the game but found an equaliser during the refereeโ€™s optional time.

Chiefs are third in the group, having lost their opening match against Al Masry SC last weekend.

โ€œI saw a different mentally today, you know. I think the winning mentally helped us to come back into the game,โ€ he said.

AMAKHOSI STRIKER SHARES CAF INTER-CLUB EXPERIENCE AFTER DRAW WITH ZAMALEK

The Guinea-Bissau international has admitted that playing in the CAF inter-club competition is not an easy task.

“It’s always a different game, the recovery and all that, and to play outside [of the country]. Today was a tough game. We knew it was going to be a tough game, and we conceded early.โ€

The 29-year-old says his commitment to the squad remains the same whether he plays just a few minutes or in a full match.

โ€œFor me, the most important, as I always say, it’s the team. Playing 10 minutes or five minutes, my commitment to the team is always the same. If I can have a goal or an assist, yeah, I always fight for that,โ€ he said.

The Amakhosi striker also added that he believes the club will progress beyond the group stages. “Of course. Everybody believes we can do it. Yes, of course, that’s our ambition.”
