Lorch’s magic continues as Maema, Singh & Mayambela score

SA stars Neo Maema, Mihlali Mayambela and Luther Singh were all on target as Thembinkosi Lorch continued his rich vein of form for Wydad AC.

Lorch remains in top form for the Moroccan club, having scored five goals and provided three assists in 10 games. On Friday, he added another assist as Wydad AC beat Azam FC 1‑0 in a CAF Confederation Cup Group C match at Amaan Stadium. Lorch provided a brilliant assist for Nordin Amrabat as he scored Wydad AC’s winner.

Rushine de Reuck was substituted at halftime, while Neo Maema scored a stunner before being replaced by Simba SC in the second half on Sunday at Stade 26 Mars. Maema’s goal wasn’t enough, however, as Simba SC suffered a 2‑1 defeat, their second successive loss in the CAF Champions League group stage.

SA DUO MAYAMBELA, SINGH SHINE IN CYPRUS

Mihlali Mayambela scored his second goal of the season as Aris Limassol beat E.N. Paralimni 3‑0 in a Cypriot First Division match at the Alphamega Stadium on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Luther Singh played the full 90 minutes and scored AEL Limassol’s opening goal from the penalty spot in a 2‑2 draw with Apollon Limassol at Alphamega Stadium on Sunday. This was a Cypriot First Division match.

In the German 2 Bundesliga, Bafana defender Ime Okon came on as a substitute after halftime when Hannover 96 beat Karlsruhe 3‑0 on Friday.
