Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has shared what makes Amakhosi defender Dillan Solomons stand out following his recent impressive performances.
Solomons has been in fine form for the Soweto giants, particularly in their last two CAF Confederation Cup group stage matches against Egyptian clubs Al Masry and Zamalek SC.
The 28-year-old right back scored in both matches as Chiefs suffered a 2-1 defeat to Al Masry away from home and a 1-1 draw with Zamalek at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane over the weekend.
Solomons has appeared in eight matches across all competitions for the Glamour Boys this season, with injury setbacks restricting his playing time at the start of the 2025/26 season.
CEDRIC KAZE ON WHAT MAKES DILLAN SOLOMONS SPECIAL
Kaze mentioned that Solomons has demonstrated that he is a player who is eager, displays dedication, and aims to drive the team forward.
“You know, I was actually joking with him that he might finish as the top goal scorer of the CAF Confederation if he keeps playing like this,” said Kaze.
“Nevertheless, he is a player who has had some tough moments. A few months ago, he wasn’t playing much due to injuries, but since the game against Kabuscorp SC, he has improved. He has shown that he’s a player who is hungry, shows commitment, and strives to push the team forward.
“He gives you solutions, and the other thing that I’m so happy about is that he has improved immensely in his defensive demeanour. Even in his one-on-one situations, he is a player who is always good. Hard work pays off all the time.”

DILLAN SOLOMONS REFLECTS ON HIS CAF CONFEDERATION CUP EXPERIENCE
The speedy defender also shared his thoughts on his CAF Confederation Cup experience, citing that the effort he invested during his injury is now showing results.
โThe CAF games have been a learning experience as we have a number of players getting their first taste of continental football. It has been tough, but weโll take the results and move on with the determination to improve when the competition resumes next year,” stated Solomons.
โPersonally, it has been a good few months for me. The hard work I did when I was injured is paying off now. Being out injured was not a good time for me. But I am so happy to be involved now and to help contribute to the team.
“Scoring a goal was wonderful, but I like getting assists, which I take pride in more. I really want to contribute even more, hopefully in the next two games before the break for the AFCON tournament.”
