Ex-Bafana Bafana and Cape Town City FC midfielder Ayanda Patosi has revealed how former PSL players at Hope FC have assisted him in settling into the SAFA Western Cape ABC Motsepe League.
The 33-year-old officially joined the amateur side in November 2025, having been without a club since January 2023, following his departure from Foolad FC in Iran.
The club, under the guidance of Dylan Dean, acquired the status of Oriented Birds FC just before the start of the 2025/26 season. Hope FC was previously known as Sea Point Swifts FC.
Currently, Hope FC sits third in Stream A of their provincial Motsepe League with six points after three matches.

HOW AYANDA PATOSI IS JUGGLING LIFE IN THE ABC MOTSEPE LEAGUE WITH THE HELP OF FORMER PSL PLAYERS
Patosi has revealed that former PSL players like Clayton Daniels, Craig Martin, and Keagan Buchanan have made it easier for him to adjust to life in the amateur league, having been on the sidelines for quite some time.
“Itโs always nice to have coaches who understand you, and they are really helping me to get back to my best. I feel good now, and Iโm grateful to Clayton Daniels, Craig Martin, Keagan Buchanan, and of course, Coach Dylan Dean for this opportunity,” Patosi told FARPost.
“To be honest, I still donโt understand why Coach Dylan is not with a PSL team, given the passion and professionalism he has. Trust me, I have been all over the world and have worked with many coaches. I really donโt see any difference with Coach Dylan.
“I am just really happy to be back on the field and do what I love. Iโm enjoying every moment. Itโs nice to share the experience with the young players.
“However, there is a huge difference in salaries between the PSL and the ABC Motsepe League. But Iโm really happy with how they do things at Hope FC. It doesnโt feel like Iโm playing for an ABC Motsepe League team. The club is professional, with a professional technical team.”
The club’s upcoming league fixture will be against Ubuntu FC on Saturday, 6 December, at Erica Park, Belhar. The match will kick off at 14:00.
