Pitso Mosimane announces a major boost for his grassroots project

Three-time CAF Champions League winner Pitso Mosimane has announced a tech partnership with Hisense.

South Africa’s most decorated coach, Pitso Mosimane, has announced a significant boost for his grassroots football initiative. Mosimane founded the rapidly expanding Pitso Mosimane Youth Football [PMYF], a comprehensive organisation dedicated to youth development.

The organisation unites a broad ecosystem of programmes, such as Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools, Pitso Mosimane Football Club, Pitso Mosimane Coaching Education, Pitso Mosimane Soccer Clinics, Pitso Mosimane Football Academy, and PM Active Sportwear. Through these diverse initiatives, PMYF is realising the former Al Ahly mentorโ€™s vision of โ€œCreating the Player of Tomorrowโ€.

PMYF RECEIVES HISENSE BOOST

PMYF received a donation of 100 Hisense mobile devices valued at R200,000 from the Chinese appliance and electronics manufacturer. The gesture, confirmed by Hisense SA in Pretoria on Friday, is a strategic investment aimed at leveraging technology to enhance the PMYF’s impressive national development programme.

The mobile devices will be distributed to the organisation’s 92 qualified coaching staff nationwide, significantly enhancing programme coordination, player management, and digital access.

Chinaโ€™s Embassy in Pretoria facilitated the collaboration. The PMYF currently trains over 12,000 young players nationwide through 18 partner schools and three community clubs. They have become one of the country’s fastest-growing sporting development organisations.

Luna Nortje, Deputy General Manager of Hisense South Africa, highlighted the alignment in values. “Their commitment to structured development, mentorship, and opportunity mirrors our own values at Hisense SA. By equipping their coaches with the tools they need, we are investing in the next generation of champions,” she said.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach emphasised the practical impact of the technology.

“Tools like these devices empower our coaches to work smarter, track progress more effectively, and ultimately serve the 12,000 young players who depend on us. We are deeply grateful to Hisense SA and the Chinese Embassy for investing in our vision and helping us build the future of South African football.”

This initiative is part of Hisense SAโ€™s ongoing dedication to supporting local sporting excellence, community upliftment, and youth empowerment ahead of the brandโ€™s global sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup in 2026.
