Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef has acknowledged that the AFCON break will present a perfect opportunity to fix an existing problem at the club.
Amakhosi played to a 0-0 draw against TS Galaxy in a Betway Premiership match at the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The encounter was the final official PSL game for the year 2025.
It was a second consecutive 0-0 draw for the Soweto giants, who came into the Galaxy match from the same score line against Chippa United last Wednesday.
With the CAF AFCON tournament starting later this month, Chiefs and other clubs in the PSL will only resume action in January 2026.
CAN KAIZER CHIEFS FIX THEIR GOAL-SCORING PROBLEM?
Youssef says they are worried about how the team has been performing, but admits they are not converting their chances.
“I think both games [against Chippa and Galaxy], we said the same thing [about failure to convert chances created]. The most important thing is the performance of the team,” said Youssef.

“We dominated in both games and created a lot of opportunities, but we have the same problem in the last third. We are unlucky not to score. But now we have this break [2025 AFCON] to fix this problem and to think about how we can continue [moving] forward.”
KHALIL BEN YOUSSEF HAPPY WITH HOW KAIZER CHIEFS HAVE BEEN PERFORMING IN RECENT MATCHES
“We are so happy about the performance of the team in the last few games. I think the team performed very well. But we are all frustrated about missing points because we are not scoring the opportunities we get.
“We have to continue to work and fix this problem. Then I think the most important thing is the performance of the team. When the team is performing well, we don’t have to be scared. But when the team is not performing well, that’s a real problem for us.”
