Former TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic has admitted that his ship at CR Belouizdad is sailing against the wind, a stark contrast to Rulani Mokwena, who is thriving at MC Alger.
Ramovic’s Belouizdad languish in 10th place, having gathered 14 points from 10 league matches, and are winless in two games. They have won three, drawn five, and lost two, with two games in hand.
And CR Belouizdad’s 2-1 defeat to Mokwena’s MC Alger on Monday night compounded Ramovic’s woes at the Algerian club.
The former Young Africans mentor is the first to admit that he is under intense pressure to turn the tide at CR Belouizdad. Nevertheless, the German mentor has refused to bury his head in shame, insisting that ‘it’s not about me’.

“This is a very tough time. The truth is that we have to do better. We are in a very difficult situation, and believe me, we are not leaders,” Ramovic said.
“It’s not about me, it’s not about the transfer; it’s about the club, and we need to find our way back quickly. I believe in my team, I believe in myself, and I’m convinced we can turn things around.
“This is a very tough time, and I know many people won’t believe in us, but we are working hard, and I’m sure things will get better. Of course, we are not happy with this defeat, but we will try to raise the level of the youth team overall.”
In contrast, his arch‑rival Rulani Mokwena is cruising nicely at the helm of MC Alger, sitting at the top of the Algerian Ligue 1.
Mokwena’s MC Alger leads the table with 25 points from nine matches, holding three games in hand and remaining unbeaten in all league fixtures.
Meanwhile, with the 2025 AFCON tournament on the horizon, Ramovic will be hoping to recharge his squad’s batteries and twist the team’s fortunes.
