Four Betway Prem clubs want Zim’s 2025 Soccer star but….

Washington Navaya in Morocco at 2025 AFCON

Four PSL clubs are keen on signing Zimbabwe’s 2025 Player of the Season, Washington Navaya, but they’ll have to bring their A-game to secure his services.

Navaya was voted the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Player of the Season, having also won the Golden Boot after scoring 17 goals for TelOne FC.

With his contract lapsing on December 31 and no extension talks in place, several clubs have been knocking on his door.

Betway Premiership side Durban City FC remain actively interested in securing Navaya, whom they failed to sign prior to the start of the 2025/26 season. They now face competition from giants Orlando Pirates, who are said to have also inquired, as well as Polokwane City FC and Sekhukhune United.

Navaya is currently with the Zimbabwe national team in Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON. Durban City chairman Farook Kadodia has been trying to convince him to join his team, having failed to get him earlier this year.

NAVAYA PRIORITISING MOVE TO SCOTTLAND TO JOIN MUSONA AND KHAMA BILLIAT

Kadodia is hoping to be the first to get Navaya’s attention when he returns from the continental showpiece. However, FARPost has it on good authority that Navaya is prioritising a move to Zimbabwe 2025 Champions, Scottland FC, who are also interested in him.

“Of course, negotiations are happening, but he is prioritising a move to Scottland FC. Other clubs have been asking, but he is not too keen to leave Zimbabwe unless the offer is too big,” a source told FARPost.

Scottland FC were the 2025 Zimbabwe PSL winners and will be featuring in the 2026/27 CAF Champions League. They are also home to several former PSL stars, including Knowledge Musona, Khama Billiat, Ronald Pfumbidzai, Walter Musona, and Terrence Dzvukamanja.

Meanwhile, Scottland FC recently confirmed the appointment of former Chippa United coach Norman Mapeza as head coach, replacing Tonderai Ndiraya, who won the league title.
