Yanga SC terminate Andy Boyeli’s loan deal mid-season

Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC have terminated the loan agreement for Congolese striker Andy Boyeli.

The 24-year-old forward, who joined the club in July 2025 on a season-long loan from South African side Sekhukhune United, will return to his parent club with immediate effect.

Boyeli arrived in Dar es Salaam with high expectations after an impressive stint in the Betway Premiership. He initially lived up to the hype, scoring on his debut in a 3-1 pre-season win over Rayon Sport. However, as the 2025/26 campaign progressed, Boyeli found it increasingly challenging to secure playing time.

Despite early league goals, including a brace against KMC in November, Boyeli struggled to secure a place in the starting XI under newly appointed head coach Pedro Gonçalves.

WHY YOUNG AFRICANS TERMINATED BOYELI’S CONTRACT

While the club has not yet issued an official statement on the reasons for the termination, sources close to the team indicate that, following the dismissal of former coach Romain Folz, the new technical staff has prioritised different attacking profiles.

Yanga has been active in the transfer market, and freeing up a foreign player slot allows the club to register new international talent for the upcoming CAF Champions League group stages.

Boyeli returns to Sekhukhune United, where he previously made 27 appearances and scored six goals.

Babina Noko returns to training this week to prepare for the second round of the season.

The Eric Tinkler-coached side is currently in third place after 13 games. They won seven games, drew four times and lost twice, amassing 25 points.
