Former Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC midfielder Kgaogelo Sekgota has resurfaced at Betway Premiership side Siwelele FC, FARPost has learnt.
Sekgota had recently joined Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side Tubatse United. He made his debut before the 2025 AFCON break, scoring against Ditlou FC in Marble Hall, Limpopo.
The 28-year-old has been trying to revive his career following a series of off-field issues which cost him contracts at various clubs. This includes Kaizer Chiefs, Stellenbosch FC and Magesi FC.
And after his contract with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Upington City FC expired at the end of last season, Sekgota took a necessary hiatus from the pitch.
At the start of the current campaign, the winger was admitted to a rehabilitation centre in Polokwane to address challenges with alcohol abuse. Having successfully completed his recovery, Sekgota returned to football and joined Limpopo-based outfit Tubatse United in Burgersfort.
ANOTHER LIFELINE FOR THE FORMER KAIZER CHIEFS WINGER AT SIWELELE FC?

According to reliable sources, Sekgota is undergoing a trial period in hopes of impressing the technical team. He began training with the squad on Monday, 6 January 2025.
If he impresses, Sekgota is likely to sign with the club during the current January transfer window.
A close source at Tubatse United has also confirmed to this publication that Sekgota has left for Mangaung and is unlikely to return to the club this season.
In a recent interview with FARPost following his rehabilitation, Sekgota acknowledged his challenges and said he was working hard to revive his career.
โAs a person, you do have challenges, and I have learnt from the ones I faced. My family never turned back on me. My partner never turned her back on me,โ he said at the time.
โSo I am myself, and I am Kgaogelo Sekgota, as people know. I am also just working hard to do whatโs best for me and my family,โ he added.
