Mushore pledges to bring the ‘Never Say Die’ spirit at AmaZulu

New AmaZulu FC signing Mason Mushore

New AmaZulu FC signing Mason Mushore is brimming with confidence that he will live up to his billing in the Betway Premiership and emulate his lookalike, Thomas Partey of Villarreal.

The Harare-born defensive midfielder, Mushore completed his move to Usuthu from Zimbabwean giants Highlanders FC. Further, he spent four years at the Bulawayo based side.

However, details of his contract were not revealed. Club president Sandile Zungu is confident the 23-year-old will quickly adjust like his compatriot, Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya.

โ€œWe welcome Mason to the AmaZulu family and are confident that he will add value and prove himself in our midfield,โ€ said Zungu.

Notably, Ngwenya switched to the KZN outfit at the start of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season, scoring four goals in 12 matches across all competitions.

Similarly, Mushore is expected to have a seamless integration into the team as a defensive midfielder, who carved a niche in Zimbabwe for his solid ball composure and agility at the heart of midfield.

Consequently, his arrival ultimately gives Arthur Zwane‘s side so much depth as he will compete for a spot in the team with Liam Bern, Langelihle Mhlongo, and Bongani Zungu.

Furthermore, in his first words as an AmaZulu FC player, Mushore said he will carry the never-say-die spirit he showed in his four years at Highlanders FC to be relevant in the Betway Premiership.

โ€œI am grateful for the warm welcome I have already received. Mr Zungu personally welcomed me and told me that he believes in me and wants me to fight for the team.

“For me, playing for AmaZulu Football Club is a dream come true. Mr. Zungu told me he believes in me and wants me to keep pushing โ€“ he believes I can do better and I’ll go far. I’ll fight hard for the badge,โ€ said Mushore.

Additionally, two more Zimbabwean players, striker Takunda Benhura and midfielder Kundai Benyu, have been linked with AmaZulu FC this January.
