Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs talisman Khama Billiat is faced with yet another decisive moment at Scottland FC in the Zimbabwe top-flight.
The 35-year-old had a below-par 2025 season in Zimbabwe, managing just one goal and a few assists for the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Champions.
Moreover, he went on to step aside from The Warriors of Zimbabwe and was one of the notable absentees at the 2025 AFCON, where Zimbabwe crashed out in the group stage.
Crucially, he faces a decisive moment at Scottland FC, who are already gearing up for the 2026 season, kicking off in March. Scottland ended their marriage with coach Tonderai Ndiraya, replacing him with former Chippa United mentor Norman Mapeza.
Mapeza’s arrival has cast the future of several players at the club in doubt, including Billiat, Ronald Pfumbidzai, and Walter Musona, among others. The club has already parted ways with six players.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR KHAMA BILLIAT
Billiat has been linked to Caps United, where he had a brief stint before breaking into the Betway Premiership back in 2010. Indications are that Billiat is one of the players to be loaned out by the club.
It remains to be seen where he will end up, but the 2026 season is ultimately one more chance for him to turn the hands of time in Zimbabwe’s PSL.
Billiat joined Scottland FC from Yadah FC at the start of the 2025 season, aiming for his first medal in his homeland, following a medal-laden time in South Africa.
At Yadah FC, he scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists, and was a Soccer Star of the Year finalist. In South Africa, Billiat is remembered for his impressive achievements, having won multiple PSL titles and the CAF Champions League with Mamelodi Sundowns.
He also won individual accolades, including the 2016 PSL Player of the Season award, thanks to his key role in Sundowns’ treble-winning season [League, Nedbank Cup, Telkom Knockout] and their continental success.
