Following his surprise exit from Orlando Pirates, Sinoxolo Kwayiba has opened up about returning to his former club, Chippa United, during the current January transfer window.
On Monday, the Buccaneers announced Kwayiba’s abrupt departure to rejoin Chippa despite being with Pirates for only six months. The talented attacker signed with Pirates in a high-profile move at the start of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership after establishing himself as a key player for the Chilli Boys.
Before moving to Gauteng, Kwayiba spent two seasons with the Eastern Cape-based side, where he made 43 appearances, scored 11 goals, and provided two assists.
During his short spell with Pirates, Kwayiba struggled to impress head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou and his technical team to hold a regular starting place in the team.
With the Sea Robbers spoilt for choice in the attacking midfield position, the club decided to part ways with the 25-year-old star on a permanent move to allow him to search for regular playing minutes elsewhere.
WHAT KWAYIBA SAID AFTER HIS EXIT FROM ORLANDO PIRATES
Meanwhile, Kwayiba, who is aiming to help Chippa move out of the relegation zone, has revealed that he’s happy to be back with the Chippa Mpengesi-owned side.

“Hello everyone, my name is Sinoxolo Kwayiba, a former Orlando Pirates player, but now I have moved to Chippa United Football Club, which is the club I was playing for,“ Kwayiba said on Chippa United’s social media.
“I want to say that I’m happy to be back at home. Let’s support Chippa United, let’s fight together, and for me, I want to first fight for my position to get into the team so that I can play.
“What I’m trying to say is that can we please support Chippa United? We want to fight, so that’s all I wanted to say. I’m saying that I’m back, and let’s fight. Support us, please.”
