Siwelele FC have confirmed that the club is in advanced talks with Belgium first division side, K. Beerschot VA regarding the potential transfer of first team attacker, Siviwe Magidigidi.

The 20-year-old was promoted to the Siwelele senior at the beginning of the season following an impressive output at the clubโ€™s reserve side in the previous season.

The young striker forms part of an array youngsters inherited by the new ownership, follwing the sale of Supersport United PSL status and rebranding to Siwelele FC.

After earning promotion, Magidigidi swiftly assumed a critical role in the senior team, serving as a pivotal figure in the teamโ€™s attacking force.

His senior team contributions have seen him rise to prominence and immediately attracting European interests.

Club CEO, Lerato Kholoanyane confirmed that the club has received extensive enquiries on Magidigidi, stretching back to late 2025.

In an official statement, the club CEO revealed that club declined the Belgianโ€™s first bid for Magidigidi as the offer did not align the clubโ€™s measured value of player.

โ€œK. Beerschot first approached us late last year, but their offer at the time did not reflect the value that Magidigidi has brought to our club, nor the impact we believed he still had to make. However, through ongoing conversations, it became clear that the player was eager to test himself internationally and embrace a new chapter abroad.

โ€œWe have always believed in matching ambition with opportunity. When Beerschot significantly improved their offer, more than doubling their initial one, the deal became acceptable and aligned with the best interests of Siwelele FC,โ€ read Kholoanyaneโ€™s statement.

SEALING THE DEAL

With four goals and one assist in 12 league appearances, Magidigidi stands amongst the top goal contributors in the South African topflight.

Hence, a mid-season season departure would certainly prove detrimental to Siweleleโ€™s attacking force and their hopes for a strong finish in the Betway Premiership.

Magidigidiโ€™s immense role has therefore seen the club raise his value in the transfer market.

Nevertheless, the CEO has confirmed that following an initial rejection, K. Beerschot V.A. has since returned with a better and more compelling offer.

โ€œWe have always believed in matching ambition with opportunity. When Beerschot significantly improved their offer, more than doubling their initial one, the deal became acceptable and aligned with the best interests of Siwelele FC,โ€ revealed the CEO.

The club CEO further shared that discussions between the two club are in advanced stages. If all succeeds, the young striker will compete his move during the current transfer window.

โ€œWhile the transfer is not yet final, we are now in the process of concluding negotiations,โ€ she confirmed.

โ€œWe fully appreciate the fans Magididigi has earned among the Siwelele faithful, and we acknowledge the emotional connection many feel.โ€

โ€œRegardless of the outcome, he will forever be part of our story. He has been a foundational player in our maiden campaign and a young man who helped set our standards both on the field and in the dressing room. At only 20 years old, Magididigiโ€™s potential is enormous.โ€

The CEO concluded with a witty but stern warning to Magidigidi’s potential opponents in Belgium, warning them for what is to come should the deal eventually breakthrough.

โ€œWe have no doubt that Belgian defenders will soon be experiencing exactly the kind of trouble he caused across the PSL. We are proud of him, we are grateful to him, and we look forward to watching his journey unfold. If this move is concluded, he will carry Siweleleโ€™s spirit with him, and he will always have a home in Bloemfontein,โ€ she concluded.
