Mavabaza United rope in Punch Masenamela, Edward Manqele and Katlego Mphela

Mavabaza United unveil Punch Masenamela, Edward Manqele and Katlego Mphela

SAFA North West ABC Motsepe League side Mavabaza United FC has roped in the former Kaizer Chiefs trio of Edward Manqele, Punch Masenamela, and Katlego Mphela.

Masenamela has been appointed as Mavabaza’s new head coach. The ex-Amakhosi retired defender takes charge of the club from Sunrise FC, which has been expelled from the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League.

On the other hand, Manqele, who plays as a forward, signed for Mavabaza with the intention of strengthening the club’s striking force. The experienced frontman was on the books of Sunrise FC last season in Limpopo.

Meanwhile, ‘Killer’, as he is affectionately known within football circles, joins Mavabaza as the club’s board member.

These appointments of former Chiefs players are expected to come in handy for the amateur side and help them challenge for the league title and qualify for the SAFA ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs, with the aim of gaining promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
