Mamelodi Sundowns will go head-to-head with Orbit College FC in the Betway Premiership tie without the services of key midfielder Teboho Mokoena on Monday at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
This showdown between the Bafana Ba Style and the Pogiso Makhoye-coached team will kick off at 19:30, with crucial three points at stake.
Currently, the Chloorkop-based side is in second position on the Betway Premiership table, having accumulated 26 points from 13 outings. They are behind the league leaders, Orlando Pirates, by two points.
The 28-year-old just returned to training with his club, as he was part of the Bafana Bafana squad that participated in the CAF 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco.
Mokoena played in all four matches [full 90 minutes] that Hugo Broos’ charges featured in at AFCON, helping Bafana finish second in Group B with six points after three games. Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the Round of 16, suffering a 2-1 loss to Cameroon.
THE REASON WHY TEBOHO MOKOENA WON’T FEATURE AGAINST ORBIT COLLEGE FC
Coach Miguel Cardoso will have to do without the talented midfielder Mokoena against Orbit College on Monday due to suspension.
‘Tebza’, as he is well known, received a red card during Sundowns’ league game against Siwelele FC, which they played to a 1-1 draw. The match took place on 3 December 2025.
As a result, Masandawana’s technical team will have to look for a better replacement for Mokoena within his squad, as they will be gunning to close the gap between them and Pirates in the Betway Premiership table.
In the current campaign, Mokoena has made 17 appearances and contributed one goal across all competitions for the Chloorkop-based outfit.
