Mokwena shines in Algeria as Chivaviro clicks right chords in Saudi

Former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena now at MC Alger

Revered SA tactician Rulani Mokwena continues to fly the national flag high, clinching his first piece of silverware in Algeria. Mokwena is rapidly carving out a niche in North Africa, winning over the locals with his commanding and sophisticated football philosophy.

On Saturday, he accounted for his first silverware with MC Alger, beating USM Alger 1-0 in the Algerian Super Cup final. MC Alger are also on top of the Algerian Ligue 1 with a 12-point lead, a clear sign of how the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns mentor has awakened the Algerian giant.

In the Saudi Pro League, Mohau Nkota played 80 minutes as Al-Ettifaq beat 10-man Al-Ittihad 1-0 at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah on Friday.

Elsewhere, Elias Mokwana was on parade for 68 minutes as Al-Hazm suffered a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Al-Qadisiyah. The match was played at the Al Hazm Club Stadium on Sunday.
