Mamelodi Sundowns legend Peter Ndlovu has joined Scottland FC in Zimbabwe, with the club shelling out hefty amounts to secure his services.
Ndlovu, who previously served as Mamelodi Sundowns’ team manager under Pitso Mosimane and Rulani Mokwena, joined Scottland FC, a club headlined by ex-Kaizer Chiefs duo Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona.
The former Zimbabwe Warriors captain, the first African to play in the English Premier League as a Coventry City player, is the club’s second major technical team appointment, as team manager.
He will work hand-in-glove with Norman Mapeza, appointed head coach at the end of November 2025. That was after the Harare-based side accounted for their first Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title under the mentorship of Tonderai Ndiraya.
Interestingly, both Ndlovu and Mapeza are former Warriors captains. However, Ndlovu’s move to Scottland FC has left fans optimistic, crucially as the club beefs up for the 2026/27 CAF Champions League.
SCOTTLAND FC BREAKS BANK TO SECURE THE SUNDOWNS LEGEND
Over time, the Zimbabwean football community has lobbied for the 52-year-old to be included in The Warriors technical team set-up.
However, he has chosen the club owned by Zimbabwe Parliament member and businessman Scott Sakupwanya. FARPost understands Scottland FC forked out between USD 200,000 and 300,000 [R4 million] for Ndlovu’s services.
He signed a two-year contract. The club has a litany of sponsors including Sakunda Holdings and IMC Communications, fronted by Wicknell Chivayo.
“Welcome to Scottland FC, my brother Peter Ndlovu, and congratulations on signing your two-year contract as the Team Manager,” club benefactor Chivayo announced Ndlovu’s arrival last Sunday via his Facebook account.

With big-name sponsors on board โ including massive kit deals โ Scottland FC is flying high, earning them the nickname Zimbabwe’s ‘Mamelodi Sundowns’.
Moreover, it is Chivayo’s admiration of Ndlovu that played a key part in luring him to the club. In December 2024, Chivayo gifted Ndlovu a brand-new 2024 BMW X6M Sport โ valued at around $144,000 USD [R2.6 million] โas a token of appreciation for his massive impact on Zimbabwean football.
ESROM NYANDORO BACKS NDLOVU’S MOVE TO SCOTTLAND FC
Meanwhile, his former teammate at Sundowns and national team level, Esrom Nyandoro, paid tribute to Ndlovu in a heartfelt Facebook post, saying he will add massive depth to the team’s think tank.
“My brother Peter Ndlovu, you have always set a high bar for us all and especially me. People donโt know this but your advice to me is always full of wisdom, I draw from you and always have been my leader and legend.
“You have yet again set a high bar and I know you are going to execute this new role with so much honor and so much grace. The players are in good hands. Congratulations are in place, my brother, and keep soaring high above your dreams till you reach greater heights,” Nyandoro said.
Meanwhile Ndlovu will return to South Africa this week as the ambitious Zimbabwean outfit is set to conduct their 2026 pre-season camp in the country. They will round up the two-week camp in Namibia.
Details of their trip to SA are yet to be revealed, but they are hoping to secure friendlies with Betway Premiership heavyweights. Back home, they will kick off the 2026 season with a date against Dynamos in the Castle Challenge Cup โ where the 2025 league winners and the 2025 Chibuku Super Cup winners face off.
On the transfer market, they have been doing business silently but are set to release over 15 players, including former Chippa United left-back Ronald Pfumbidzai. Billiat and Musona will be retained as they need their experience for the CAF Champions League maiden and local league title defense.
