Mamelodi Sundowns star Khuliso Mudau has responded to rumours linking him to a sensational transfer to rivals Orlando Pirates.

The highly-rated defender has been in the news in recent weeks after various reports linked him to a move to Pirates in the current January transfer window.

Mudau has been an integral part of Sundowns’ success, having won a handful of domestic trophies with the club and lifted the African Football League [AFL] in 2023. The 30-year-old fullback has been with Masandawana for over five seasons after signing in 2020 from Black Leopards on a long-term deal.

Mudau has made over 150 appearances across all competitions for Sundowns, scoring seven goals and providing six assists.

His form at club level has translated to the national team, where the talented right-back has established himself as one of the most reliable players for Hugo Broos in the Bafana Bafana squad.

Speaking on Sundowns’ social media platforms, Mudau revealed that the Pirates rumours also came as a shock to him and reaffirmed his full commitment to his current club.

“I found out about that… I think one of my friends sent me something like that. [It was] saying I’m going to Orlando Pirates,” Mudau said. “I don’t even know anything. My focus is on Mamelodi Sundowns. I’m 100% here, my heart is here, and I want to achieve things with the team.

“So I want to help the team. I don’t know what the talks are about or what they are saying, but I’m here 100%,” Mudau added, assuring Sundowns fans.
