Thembinkosi Lorch has been officially unveiled as Al Ittihad SC’s latest signing, having joined the Libyan club from Wydad Athletic Club. Lorch has been playing for the Moroccan giants since 2025 after being signed by then-coach Rulani Mokwena.
He initially joined the club on a loan deal from Mamelodi Sundowns before moving permanently at the beginning of the season. He impressed for the 22-time Botola Pro champions in the domestic league and during the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA.
The 32-year-old has reportedly joined the club in a big-money move. The club took to their social media platforms on Saturday afternoon to formally unveil the former Orlando Pirates star.

Lorch is likely to reunite with his Wydad teammate Aziz Ki, who is reportedly also on the verge of joining the club.
The Free State-born star, who delivered an impressive showing at the FIFA Club World Cup, had become a key figure for Wydad. This season, he has already netted five goals and set up four assists in the early part of the 2025/26 campaign.
According to reports in North Africa, Aziz Ki has also been offered a two-and-a-half-year contract at the club and could soon be unveiled.
Al Ittihad are 18-time Libyan Premier League winners, with their last trophy coming during the 2021/22 season.
They have also won the Libyan Cup seven times, and they also won the Libyan Super Cup 11 times. While they have made 10 appearances in the CAF Champions League, they have yet to win the biggest club football competition on the continent.
