AmaTuks claimed a 3-2 victory over Motsepe Foundation Championship leaders Milford FC on Saturday afternoon, while Cape Town City FC extended their unbeaten run to six matches.
The Pretoria-based side collected maximum points against Milford at Tuks Stadium as the KZN-based outfit missed a huge opportunity to open a gap on the chasing teams for an automatic promotion to the Betway Premiership.
AmaTuks’ win over Milford saw them move up to ninth in the league table with 20 points in 15 matches. Kwanele Kopoโs charges have claimed four wins in the league, eight draws, and three defeats.
Meanwhile, Milford remained at the top of the log standings with 27 points in 15 games. They are one point behind Casric Stars and Kruger United, who occupy second and third positions, respectively.
Elsewhere, Cape Town City took their unbeaten run in the Championship to six matches after beating Gomora United 2-1 on Friday at Dobsonville Stadium. In the last six matches, they registered wins against Gomora, Highbury FC, Lerumo Lions FC, Black Leopards, AmaTuks, and drew against Upington City FC.
CAPE TOWN CITY ARE GUNNING FOR AUTOMATIC PROMOTION BACK TO THE PREMIERSHIP

The Cape Town-based side has joined the race for promotion to the SAโs top-flight, which could see them making an automatic promotion to the top league. City suffered relegation to the second division at the end of the previous campaign.
CT City is fourth on the log with 25 points from 15 matches, having won seven, drawn four, and lost four. They are two points adrift of table toppers Milford.
