Ex-Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows midfielder Thato Makua is set for a transfer move to Motsepe Foundation Championship side Gomora United, with the deal believed to be in the advanced stages.
Gomora is keen on bringing in new players in the current January transfer window to have a strong finish to the second round of the 2025/26 season.
The PSL newcomers are in their first season in the Motsepe Foundation after winning the ABC Motsepe League national playoffs to gain promotion to the professional ranks at the start of the season.
The Gauteng-based side has had a challenging start to life in the second division after managing only three wins, eight draws, and suffering four defeats in 15 matches played. Gomora are currently occupying the 13th position on the table with 17 points. On Friday afternoon, they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Cape Town City FC at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.
With Gomora looking to climb up the league table, they have shown interest in signing Thato Makua to beef up the attacking options for the second round of the campaign.
THATO MAKUA’S MOVE TO GOMORA IS IN ADVANCED STAGES

Makua last featured in the professional ranks with NB LA Masia in 2023 when they participated in the NFD before suffering relegation to the ABC Motsepe League.
The talented attacker who came through the Chiefs development ranks also had a spell with Moroka Swallows before moving to La Masia. According to FARPost sources close to the player, the 24-year-old is on his way to begin life with Gomora as he looks to revive his career in the second-tier.
“Thato Makua will sign with Gomora United in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, I can tell you that the deal is in the final stages. The player has been training with Gomora for the past two weeks where he managed to impress the technical team,” says a source close to the situation.
