Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the postponement of one of their February Betway Premiership fixtures. Coming off a successful away win against Zesco United in Zambia, Chiefs face a relentless schedule.

Chiefs were in Ndola, Zambia over the weekend and they edged Zesco 1-0 in a morale-boosting win on the road. After a brief Johannesburg stopover, Amakhosi have flown to Bloemfontein to face Marumo Gallants on Wednesday evening at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium.

This match marks the halfway point of the season. Currently sitting third on the log with 27 points from 14 games, a win would see Chiefs reach the 30-point milestone and maintain their perfect winning streak for 2026. Their opponents, Gallants, currently occupy 12th place.

WHICH FEBRUARY BETWAY PREMIERSHIP FIXTURE HAS BEEN POSTPONED?

The February 18 fixture against Siwelele away in Bloemfontein has been postponed. The change comes as Amakhosi navigate a demanding CAF Confederation Cup group stage, with three crucial fixtures in early February.

After facing Marumo, the Glamour Boys return home to Moses Mabhida Stadium to take on Zesco United on Sunday. Next up will be a trip to Cape Town to face Stellenbosch in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 on Wednesday, February 4. They then host Al Masry in Polokwane on Sunday, February 8. Amakhosi then travel to Cairo to face Zamalek on February 15.

The travel logistics for the final trip to Egypt necessitated rescheduling the Siwelele fixture, with the PSL yet to announce a new date.

With a daunting run of 11 matches in 40 days, co-coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze are prioritising squad rotation. Ben Youssef noted that the team’s depth will be the deciding factor in staying fresh while playing every three days across the continent.

A victory in Bloem will bring them closer to matching their points total from last season. The Soweto giants accumulated 32 points in 28 games last season and look set to surpass that total this season.
