Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has explained the club’s stance on player recruitment during the January transfer window period. Having done most of their business at the beginning of the season, Chiefs’ only announcement was Xhosa Manyana, who was signed on loan to their DDC team from Cape Town City.
Amakhosi has enjoyed a promising run under the guidance of Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef. They currently sit second in the Betway Premiership with 30 points, just two points below log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
Chiefs are also within a great chance of securing a place in the CAF Confederation Cup knockout stages. They currently sit third with four points, three behind leaders Al Masry, whom they will host in Polokwane next weekend.

Speaking on Radio 2000 Sports Show, Game on, Kaze says the club is satisfied with the current squad and believes they will carry them through until the end of the season.
“It’s something that we spoke about with the management,” said Kaze when asked about player recruitment.

CEDRIC KAZE IS CONFIDENT IN THE QUALITY AND DEPTH AT THE CLUB
“We sat together and decided that we have enough players and all the positions are covered with a minimum of two players in each position, and even in our rotation, there are still players that are left out of the match day squad, and even those players deserve to be there.
“We’re going to continue with this squad until May, and we have enough players to get us where we can get.”
Chiefs will take on Zambian side, ZESCO United, in their CAF Confederation Cup clash at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Sunday afternoon. Amakhosi come into the match from a hard-fought 1-0 victory in a Group D clash in Ndola last Sunday.
