The Premier Soccer League has confirmed the appointment of Advocate Pumzo Mbana as the new Independent League Prosecutor. The appointment follows confirmation that Zola Majavu’s term ends on 31 January 2026.
Mbana is not new to the PSL, having previously served on the Leagueโs judicial structures, including participation in the PSL Judicial Tribunal.
The League says Majavu will continue to contribute in another important capacity. He remains a member of the First Instance Body responsible for adjudicating club licensing applications each season, ensuring continued governance and compliance across PSL member clubs.
ZOLA MAJAVU BIDS FAREWELL AS THE PSL PROSECUTOR
In a statement issued on Friday, following a PSL Executive Committee meeting held on Thursday, 29 January 2026.
โThe Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed that Mr Zola Majavuโs term of office as Independent League Prosecutor concludes on the last day of January 2026,โ the League said.

โThe PSL Chairman, ACEO and members of the Executive Committee have expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to Mr Majavu for the competence and integrity he demonstrated in the execution of his duties during his tenure.
โMr Majavu will, however, continue to serve in his capacity as a member of the First Instance Body responsible for adjudicating club licensing applications each season.โ
PREMIER SOCCER LEAGUE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE WELCOMES PUMZO MBANA
โAt its meeting held on Thursday, 29 January 2026, the PSL Executive Committee confirmed the appointment of Mr Pumzo Mbana, an advocate of the Johannesburg Bar, as the new Independent League Prosecutor.
โMr Mbana brings with him extensive experience in sports law and has previously served with distinction on the Leagueโs Judicial Tribunals.โ
The transition marks a new phase in the Leagueโs ongoing efforts to maintain the highest standards of football administration and disciplinary oversight.
