Vodia Sports International agent Gerald Baloyi has revealed contract details for ex-Kaizer Chiefs and Maroka Swallows midfielder Thato Makua at Gomora United

Makua joined Motsepe Foundation Championship side Gomora on a free transfer a few days ago, beefing up the club’s midfield position for the second round of the 2025/26 season.

The Giraffes are aiming to produce consistent performances and move out of the bottom half of the second-division standings.

United are occupying 11th position on the league table with 19 points after registering only three wins, 10 draws, and four defeats in 17 league matches. This past Friday, Gomora failed to collect maximum points after settling for a goalless draw against Venda FC.

Gomora are in their maiden season in the NFD, having gained promotion to the second tier at the start of the current season after winning the ABC Motsepe League national playoffs.

As Gomora seeks to maintain its status in the Motsepe Foundation, the Gauteng outfit has signed Makua, who brings top-flight experience to the club.

Before putting pen to paper at Gomora, Makua had been a free agent for a lengthy period, last featuring for NB LA Masia in 2023 during their time in the Championship. The talented midfielder also played for Chiefs reserve side and Swallows.

Makua’s agent, Gerald Baloyi, has told FARPost that Makua signed a two-year contract with an option to renew for a further year at Gomora.

:Thato is a very good player that I have been following from his days at Chiefs and Moroka Swallows. And he has what it takes to compete in the PSL,” Baloyi said.

“I’m grateful that Gomora gave him a lifeline to showcase his talent and qualities because he’s a good dribbling wizard that Gomora will not regret signing. He signed a two-year contract with one year option.”
