Stellenbosch FC have secured the services of highly-rated Ubuntu FC Academy midfielder Solethu ‘Razor’ Mabhenu, who has joined the club’s DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] squad.
Mabhenu, from Strand, Cape Town, arrives with a strong reputation, having captained Ubuntu FC to Bayhill success last year and earning praise for his leadership, discipline, and character on and off the pitch. Ubuntu FC confirmed the move with a heartfelt message to their graduate. “Huge congratulations to our graduate Solethu ‘Razor’ Mabhenu on signing for the Stellenbosch FC Diski Team,” Ubuntu confirmed.
“Razor captained us to our BayHill triumph last year, leading with humility, discipline, and heart. He is a true leader who lives out his values on and off the field, and, to top it off, he also achieved a Bachelor’s Pass in his matric.

“The future is bright, Razor. We’re so proud of you and look forward to walking alongside you for many years to come,” the note concluded.
UBUNTU FC GRADUATES IN EUROPE
Ubuntu’s Executive Director, Casey Prince, also confirmed the signing to FARPost and praised the midfielder’s early impact at the club.
“Yes, he did really well in his first game; he played very well,” Prince told this publication.
“He was sort of their internal Man of the Match,” Prince said. “I am really pleased with how he started. It was also delightful to see another one of our products, Munashe Garananga [FC Copenhagen centre back], facing FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League this week.
“So we do have a few players across Europe. There is also Siviwe [Magidigidi], who has just moved to Belgium [K Beerschot VA]. This week, we will make another announcement of another player leaving us for Europe.
“We don’t want to put too many expectations on ‘Razor,’ but he is an exceptional young man. To us, that is the most important factor than the player he is,” Prince added.
