The Stellenbosch FC DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) team has signed attacking midfielder Cazwill Williams from Eldo Spurs in Johannesburg.
The 18-year-old playmaker made a strong name for himself in the ABC Motsepe League with Thames FC in the North West, where he inspired the club to a league championship before their campaign ended in the Play-Offs.
His standout performances attracted interest from major clubs, including Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Known for his left foot and creativity, Williams, nicknamed โMessi,โ opted to complete his matric before committing to a move to Stellenbosch FC.
Thames FC praised his journey in a farewell message: โWhen we lose some, we win some. Thames Football Club wishes you all the best on your new journey, Messi.โ
Williams has already made an immediate impact for the Maroons. He scored a sensational volley on his debut last Sunday to secure a 1โ0 win over Polokwane City, helping Stellies maintain fourth place in the DDC standings after 16 matches.
