Cape Town City FC shared the spoils with Casric Stars after playing to a goalless draw in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on Friday, while Milford FC opened a three-point gap at the summit of the league table.
The Citizens are on an impressive unbeaten run of eight matches, having last suffered defeat when they lost 3-1 to Baroka FC on the 2nd of November.
After the defeat against Baroka, City has gone on to register wins against Black Leopards, Lerumo Lions, AmaTuks, Gomora United, Highbury FC, and played draws against Upington City FC and Casric Stars.
The recent positive results have seen City move fourth on the log standings with 29 points in 17 matches, establishing themselves as a serious contender to gain promotion to the Betway Premiership next season. They are four points adrift of log leaders Milford FC, who have collected 33 points.
Elsewhere, Milford claimed a 2-1 victory over Lerumo Lions FC to tighten their grip at the top of the league table. The KZN-based side is leading second-placed Casric with three points.
HUNGRY LIONS BRUSHED ASIDE THE BEES

In the current campaign, Milford secured 10 wins, three draws, and four defeats in 17 matches played. Meanwhile, Hungry Lions FC brushed aside the Bees with a 2-1 scoreline to put themselves in the mix of the title race. The Northern Cape outfit is sitting fifth on the log with 28 points, and they are five points away from table toppers Milford.
