SA star Luther Singh scored a decisive goal for AEL Limassol in Cyprus, while Rulani Mokwena’s MC Alger turned their CAF Champions League Group stage campaign around.

FARPost looks at how SA stars plying their trade abroad fared over the weekend. In the England Championship, Luke Le Roux was an unused substitute as Portsmouth FC beat West Bromwich Albion FC 3-0 at Fratton Park on Saturday afternoon.

His Al-Ettifaq takes on Al-Taawoun on Tuesday at the Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium. Ranga Chivaviro will also be in action on Tuesday as Al-Adalah play against Al-Tai at the Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Sports City Stadium.

LUTHER SINGH ON TARGET IN THE LIMASSOL DERBY

In the Cypriot First Division, Luther Singh was on target as AEL beat Aris Limassol 2-1 at Alphamega Stadium on Sunday night. Singh played the entire match and scored their equaliser in the 47th minute, having trailed in the first half. Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns loanee Thapelo Maseko was on the bench in the colours of AEL.

In the same league, Mihlali Mayambela made his debut for Omonoia FC as they beat Digenis Ipsona 1-0 at GSP Stadium on Sunday night. Mayambela was withdrawn after 56 minutes. Additionally, Siyabonga Ngezana was an unused substitute as FCSB beat Csikszereda 1-0 at Arena Naศ›ionalฤƒ in a Romanian Super Liga match played on Sunday night.

Furthermore, Bafana Bafana midfielder Sphephelo Sithole played the entire match for 17th-placed CD Tondela as they drew 0-0 with Jose Mourinho‘s Benfica at the Estรกdio Joรฃo Cardoso. Sithole was yellow-carded in the match played on Sunday.

FINALLY, MOKWENA’S MC ALGER WIN IN CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP PHASE

Meanwhile, Rulani Mokwena finally registered a win in the CAF Champions League after MC Alger beat FC Saint-ร‰loi Lupopo 2-0 at the Stade Ali-la-Pointe on Sunday night.

They are now third in Group C with four points from four matches. Al-Hilal SC, who beat Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 on Friday night, lead with eight points. Sundowns follow with five points, while the DR Congo – Lupopo outfit are now at the bottom.

Steve Barker’s Simba SC blew away a two-goal lead to settle for a 2-2 draw with Espรฉrance Sportive de Tunis in a CAF Champions Group D match played at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium on Sunday. Rushine De Reuck was on parade for the whole match, while Neo Maema was not in the team.

In the Moroccan Botola Pro League, Fadlu Davids ensured Raja Casablanca beat Renaissance Zemamra 3-0 in a match that was played at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Thembinkosi Lorch was a 56th-minute substitute for Wydad AC as they suffered a 2-1 loss in a CAF Confederations Cup Group B match at TP Mazembe Stadium on Sunday. It was likely Lorch’s last game in Wydad colours, as he has signed a deal with Libyan side Al Ittihad SC most recently.
