Venda FC head coach Clinton Larsen has confidently declared his side as one of the clubs in contention for promotion come the end of the 2025/26 season in the PSL.
Larsen has been in charge of the Motsepe Foundation Championship side since the beginning of the season. The club made reinforcements at the beginning of the season after surviving relegation at the end of last season.
But the club has turned the fortunes around this season and are only seven points below current log leaders Milford FC with 13 matches to play.
CLINTON LARSEN TO REPEAT 2024 HISTORIC PROMOTION AT VENDA FC?
Larsen is not new to fighting for promotion to the elite league. He was in charge when Magesi FC gained promotion to the Betway Premiership in 2024. He went on to guide the side to a historic Carling Knockout triumph, defeating Mamelodi Sundowns in the final.

Speaking after his side played to a 0-0 draw against Gomora United in Malamulele, Limpopo, on Friday, Larsen says his side has now put their hand in the promotion race.
“Listen, we said the second round is going to be very tight, and I think that the fact that none of the top teams have run away with it by 10 or 12 points clear, it’s just giving everybody some hope and belief, and that includes us,โ he said.
FORMER MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP CHAMPION CONFIDENT AFTER GOOD RUN
โWhy not? As much as I said the season was about stability, making sure that there are no relegation fights after three seasons of doing so. But the way it looks now, we have put ourselves in contention to fight for a top-three place, and thatโs what we will try to do.”
“I am very proud of the team. I think we are safe from relegation now. We don’t have to worry about relegation this season. We can now try to look for another positive target.”
