Former Orlando Pirates winger Sifiso Myeni has offered reasons why Kaizer Chiefs should be excluded from the Betway Premiership title conversations in the 2025/26 season.

While Amakhosi are enjoying a solid run, Myeni believes the road ahead is tougher than it looks, and that form alone wonโ€™t be enough to carry Chiefs all the way.

He pointed to squad depth and the demands of competing on multiple fronts as key factors that could hinder Chiefsโ€™ title ambitions.

Myeni also suggested that the team has yet to be truly tested and that fans and management may see cracks appear as the season progresses.

SIFISO MYENI: KAIZER CHIEFS DON’T HAVE THE SQUAD DEPTH

โ€œKaizer Chiefs should just try to keep this current form,โ€ Myeni said on the Omniaudioafrica podcast. โ€œIt is going to be a busy month of February.

โ€œThis month is going to be jam-packed. It is where men and the boys will be separated during February. This will apply to all of the teams. Right now, the points gap between the teams is small, soon the gaps will increase.

โ€œTeams will start to realise they need three or four games to catch up. Right now, yes, Chiefs are in good form. I am not too sure if they have the squad depth. To be honest, I am not so sure. I donโ€™t think they have the squad depth.

โ€œFor me, not yet. On this side, they are playing in the CAF Confederation Cup, and then there is the Betway Premiership. The Nedbank Cup is also starting,โ€ Myeni added.

โ€œIn my opinion, they have not been tested yet. They just donโ€™t have it in them to win the league. They have many problems.

โ€œFrom all the problems they had last season, and suddenly you want to challenge this season? No ways. You will see, they will crack easily. They are saying Amakhosi ajabulile now, but soon they will want the coaches gone,โ€ Myeni concluded.
