Former Motsepe Foundation Championship winner Brandon Truter could be set for a return to the second-tier league in a new capacity, with Black Leopards showing interest in his services.

FARPost understands that the well-traveled tactician is being considered for a role to help steady the ship at the Thohoyandou-based side.

Truter has been without a job since he parted ways with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Upington City FC last season. It was his second stint at the club, after serving as a technical director previously.

Truter is a well-travelled coach having also worked with various Betway Premiership clubs such as Richards Bay FC, now-defunct Moroka Swallows, Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu FC.

He was in charge when Swallows earned promotion to the top-flight at the end of the 2019/20 season.

‘Brakkies’ as he is popularly known, was linked with a technical director role at Kruger United at the beginning of the current season, but the move didn’t materialise.

FARPost has been reliably informed that Truter has already arrived in Limpopo to start his tenure as a technical advisor at the club.

He was a notable spectator at Leopards’ friendly match against Venda FC this past weekend. He is likely to be formally introduced to the team ahead of their training session in Polokwane on Monday afternoon.

According to reliable sources, Mabhuti Khenyeza is set to continue in his role as the head coach at the club.

MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP SIDE DESPERATELY NEED TO GET OUT OF RELEGATION

Leopards are beefing up their technical team after some inconsistent results, with the club finding themselves at the bottom of the Motsepe Foundation Championship with only 14 matches to go. They have only collected 12 points so far with two wins and eight defeats.

Leopards’ next League match is away to Gomora United at the Malamulele Stadium on Saturday, 14 February. They will then host Hungry Lions at the Thohoyandou Stadium on 1 March.
