Former Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows defender Yagan Sasman has resurfaced at Motsepe Foundation Championship side Black Leopards, FARPost has learnt.

Sasman has been a free agent since parting ways with second-tier league outfit Casric Stars at the end of last season.

He spent the season at the Mpumalanga-based side after returning from a stint at AFC Eskilstuna in Sweden.

Before the 29-year-old left for Sweden, he also featured for the likes of Ajax Cape Town and Moroka Swallows. He was one of the 13 players released by Casric in July and has been struggling to find a club ever since.

This publication has since established that Sasman has been at Leopards for a few weeks, trying to impress the technical team. His experience would come in handy at a Leopards side that has struggled to win matches this season.

Leopards currently sit at the bottom of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table, having played 16 matches. They have won just two, drawn six and lost eight.

However, as this publication previously reported, the club has received a lifeline after its transfer ban was lifted by FIFA last week.

The club was slapped with a ban on registering new players on 17 October 2025, following issues relating to the FIFA Clearing House Client Portal inherited from All Stars FC when they purchased the club’s NFD status.

FIFA has issued a directive to SAFA instructing them to immediately lift the ban imposed on the Limpopo club.

WILL MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP SIDE ADD MORE PLAYERS?

FARPost has gathered that Sasman is not the only player training with Leopards with the hope of securing a contract. Former Durban City FC and AmaZulu FC defender Xolani Slawula is also said to be trying his luck at the club.
