Motsepe Foundation Championship contenders Casric Stars have bolstered their promotion aspirations by securing the signatures of veteran defender Justice Chabalala and attacker Mfundo Thikazi.
Both players join the Mpumalanga-based side as free agents, providing a timely boost to the club’s promotion ambitions.
The ex-Orlando Pirates center-back, Chabalala, joins Casric after a brief stint with Gomora United. Despite having a season-long contract with an option to extend, the 34-year-old reached a mutual agreement to be released by the Gauteng-based outfit.
Chabalala, leaves Gomora sitting in 12th position on the Motsepe Foundation Championship table, having accumulated 19 points from 17 outings.
Meanwhile, Thikazi has been unattached since January 2026. He arrives with fresh top-flight experience, having made 13 appearances across all competitions for his former Betway Premiership side Richards Bay FC earlier this season.
The 26-year-old, Thikazi, is expected to provide an attacking edge that could be pivotal for Casric in the final stretch of the campaign.

Casric are currently in heated title race. They occupy second place on the Motsepe Foundation Championship table with 30 points from 17 matches. They are only a three-point behind the log leaders, Milford FC.
