SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side Gosebo United have shown former Baroka FC mentor Kgoloko Thobejane the exit door following a string of poor results.
Thobejane, who is famous for his “football will kill you” quips, was appointed as Gosebo’s head coach in September 2025 with high expectations.
Given his extensive experience in both the PSL and the amateur ranks, he was seen as the man to elevate the Ga-Masemola-based outfit. However, life in Stream B has been anything but a fairytale.
After purchasing the status of United Artists at the beginning of the 2025/26 season, Gosebo had hoped to build on Artists’ last season’s respectable sixth-place finish. However, they have found themselves fighting to survive the relegation zone under the tutelage of Thobejane.
In the South African third tier, Thobejane previously coached teams such as Som United and Super Stars FC, both from the North West ABC Motsepe League, as well as Postmasburg FC in the Northern Cape ABC Motsepe League.

GOSEBO UNITED OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON KGOLOKO THOBEJANE’S SACKING
In a statement released late Tuesday night, the club confirmed the termination of Thobejane’s contract with immediate effect.
“The management of Gosebo United Football Club wishes to inform its loyal supporters, sponsors, and stakeholders that the club has parted ways with Mr kgoloko Thobejane with immediate effect,” reads the club’s statement.
“We appreciate the contribution made by him at the club. During his tenure and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors. We will soon announce the new coach.”
Currently, Gosebo are languishing at the bottom [11th place] of Stream B with nine points after 10 games. In those 10 outings, the club managed to register two wins, draw three, and succumbed to five defeats.
Gosebo’s next league fixture will be against Ditlou FC away from home this afternoon, with the kick off set for 15:00. This tie will take place at Mafori Mphahlele Stadium, Baroka Village, the very backyard where Thobejane once enjoyed his greatest career highs while he was still coaching Bakgaga.
