With the second round of the Betway Premiership heating up, Magesi FC captain Elvis Chipezeze has weighed in on his side’s chances of escaping the drop, as they currently sit rooted to the bottom of the table.
The Limpopo-based side currently occupies 16th place on the Betway Premiership table with just 11 points from 15 matches.
Their recent form, which includes a five-game winless run in the league and a heartbreaking exit from the Nedbank Cup, has led many South African football fanatics to write them off.
Dikwena Tsa Meetse are gearing up for their crucial home fixture against Golden Arrows at the Seshego Stadium this Friday. The game will kick off at 19:30.
Meanwhile, the club recently parted ways with their gaffer, John Maduka, and moved swiftly to appoint the experienced coach Allan Freese to lead the survival charge.
‘NO NEED TO PANIC’: SAYS ELVIS CHIPEZEZE
Chipezeze stated that the club’s current struggles are part of the beautiful game. He believes the squad has the mental fortitude to climb out of the relegation zone and has called for calm from the supporters.

The Zimbabwean international went on to say that they will take “one game at a time” and rely on their home-ground advantage to spark a turnaround.
“Well, we can [get out of the relegation zone]. We are playing at home [against Golden Arrows] this week. This is only a phase. In football, you go through these phases where you do well and sometimes you struggle and stuff like that,” said Chipezeze.
“But this is one of the things that we know [languishing at the bottom of the log standings]. However, we are raring to go. We are just going to take it one game at a time because it’s a process, but we will eventually get there.
“We are going to take it upon ourselves to save the club without looking at how other clubs are playing. With the supporters that we have and the boys pushing very hard at training, positive things are coming. There’s no need to panic; we are just going to take it one game at a time, and we will see how it goes.”
