Golden Arrows and Magesi FC in a Betway Premiership match

Golden Arrows striker Junior Dion scored a brace as they beat Magesi FC 2-0, while Durban City FC secured a 2-0 win over TS Galaxy in Friday night’s Betway Premiership fixtures.

The Ivorian striker was the toast of the night as Arrows ended their five-match winless streak in a match that was played at Seshego Stadium. Going into this match, Magesi FC were desperate to change their fortunes having endured a tough spell. They last won on 18 October 2025 when they beat TS Galaxy 2-1.

Dikwena tša Meetse have only managed two wins and are rooted at the bottom of the Betway Premiership table. Arrows, on the other hand, have been blowing hot and cold but in this one, they got it right.

Magesi FC were forced to make a change after ten minutes as Diteboho Mofokeng replaced Lehlegonolo Mokone because of an injury. Magesi were further hard-hit as they were reduced to ten men when Kgomotso Mosadi was red-carded in the 38th minute after accumulating two yellow cards.

TWO GOALS IN SEVEN MINUTES FOR DION

The two sides could not be separated at half-time though, with Golden Arrows enjoying a numerical advantage. Deservedly, Arrows returned from the break with so much firepower and they got their breakthrough in the 47th minute when Junior Dion beat Elvis Chipezeze from close range, from an Ayabulela Maxwele pass.

He doubled their score in the 54th minute, beating Chipezeze from close range as the Magesi FC defense failed to clear their lines. Arrows were also reduced to ten men when Isaac Cissé was sent off for a bad tackle just after the hour mark.

However, that had little impact as Magesi failed to rise from their slump. Manqoba Mngqithi‘s side climbed to ninth position with 20 points from 17 matches, while Magesi remains rooted at the bottom with 11 points.
