Former SA junior International Abram Nteo has addressed his future at Magesi FC following the arrival of new head coach Allan Freese.

The club officially announced on Wednesday that Freese would take over from John Maduka, who recently left. The 69-year-old, who recently served as an assistant coach to Rulani Mokwena at Wydad AC in Morocco, takes over the reins at a club languishing at the bottom of the Beltway Premiership.

He watched his new side from the stands as they suffered a 2-0 loss against Golden Arrows at the Seshego Stadium on Friday evening.

Nteo, who has been serving as interim head coach, was in charge of the match. The 48-year-old joined the team shortly after Maduka’s appointment at the beginning of the season.

“They have not spoken to me. I am still a Magesi FC coach. So they have not spoken to me, and I am still here,” he told journalists after the Arrows match.

Nteo also confirmed that new coach Freese met with the interim technical team to discuss the club’s shortcomings.

WHAT NEW COACH ALLN FREESE RAISED AS THE MAIN CONCERN AT THE CLUB

“He managed to come [to training] yesterday [Thursday] because we were doing the set pieces,โ€ he said.

โ€œWe had a talk with him, and when he checked the stats, he understood that we are conceding a lot of goals as well. So one thing that he mentioned was not to concede a lot of goals and to make sure we defend first and get it right on attack.

โ€œIt’s something that we will work on, and we need to win because it’s getting tougher. So we need to win games so that we get out of the position that we are in.”
