Golden Arrows head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has shared why he was unhappy with the current Betway Premiership top goal scorer, Sede Junior Dion, during the win against Magesi FC on Friday.
Arrows secured a 2-0 win at the Seshego Stadium in Limpopo. It was a sixth win of the season for Abafana be’sthende who have now moved to ninth position on the log.
Meanwhile, Dion scored his ninth goal of the season to go top of the scoring charts, above Sekhukhune United marksman Bradley Grobler, who has seven goals.
WHY MANQOBA MNGQITHI FEELS JUNIOR DION COULD HAVE SCORED MORE
However, Mngqithi says Dion could have scored more goals against Magesi and wasnโt pleased with the chances he missed.
“I believe so [he could have gotten a [hat-trick], I was somehow unhappy with the chances he missed, more especially the first half,โ Mngqithi said after the match.
โThere was a volley that he took that could have easily been a goal of the season. [Angelo] Van Rooi could have laid it for Dion. The other one, he delayed until the defender managed to touch it for a corner kick.โ

GOLDEN ARROWS COACH IMPRESSED WITH HIS PLAYERS AFTER WIN AGAINST MAGESI FC
โBut I honestly think even [Lungelo] Nguse could have scored two or three in the few minutes that he played in the second half. But it’s impressive to see that we are getting something from these boysโ performances. I strongly believe they have been performing very well. Even away from home.
โBut we are somehow unlucky with individual errors here and there, and we end up losing a game 1-0 out of nothing. We have had a lot of those situations. So it is pleasing for me to see them getting a result in a game that is always very tough for any opponent that comes to Seshego.โ
