Orbit College FC head coach Pogiso Makhoye has provided an update on Lesedi Kapingaโ€™s future at the Betway Premiership side.

As FARPost first reported, Kapinga has been training with Betway Premiership newcomers with the hope of securing a contract.

The former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns player became a free agent after parting ways with Sekhukhune United.

The 30-year-old won three league titles with Sundowns before his move to Pirates, where he won the MTN8 and the Nedbank Cup.

THE LATEST REGARDING LESEDI KAPINGA AT ORBIT COLLEGE

Speaking after their 2-0 defeat to Sekhukhune United at New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Sunday, Makhoye confirmed that Kapinga has officially joined the club.

“Yes, he’s with us, and we are signing him, yes,” confirmed Makhoye. We don’t know [how long he will stay]. Maybe if we survive, he will stay longer.

Makhoye also alluded to the fact that the club has to make use of what is available and free in the market due to limited budgets.

“Unfortunately, the team that we have is limited because we don’t have sponsorship. We look at who’s free in the market when we try to bring players. So we are looking.”

POGISO MAKHOYE IS NOT PRESSING ANY PANIC BUTTON REGARDING POSSIBLE RELEGATION

He rubbished the suggestions that the club should now be worried due to their log position. Orbit are second from the bottom with 14 points from 18 matches.

“No, why should we panic? If we have to be relegated, we can be relegated,โ€ added Makhoye.

โ€œWe know how to promote it [the team]. But we will keep on fighting until the last game, and I am happy with the performance today because in the past 17 games we played a low block, allowing opponents to dictate the game. But today we came here, and it was a different story.

โ€œAt least we controlled the game, and it’s the first time this season we’ve played like that. That’s why we are going back to our own philosophy and conceding two goals today compared to when we were sitting at the back, conceding three. I am happy, and this is due to our own mistakes.”
