TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic has shed light on ex-Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Ntandoyenkosi Nkosi’s limited game-time at the club.
Beganovic spoke about Nkosi at the Nedbank Cup press conference as Galaxy are preparing to face Mamelodi Sundowns in the Last 16 of the competition. The talented midfielder joined the Rockets at the start of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season after leaving Chiefs, where he featured in the DStv Diski Challenge side.
Nkosi was a key figure in the DDC for Chiefs after they won the reserve league in the previous campaign. Following his huge impact at Amakhosi, the highly-rated midfielder joined TS Galaxy in search of regular playing minutes in the top-flight.
However, Nkosi has struggled to hit the ground running at Galaxy, facing stiff competition to break into the starting line-up. So far this season, he has featured in only five appearances across all competitions as a second-half substitute.
BEGANOVIC VOWS TO GIVE NKOSI A CHANCE
With Nkosi seemingly struggling at Galaxy, Beganovic has revealed that the youngster will be given a chance, and it’s up to him to use the playing opportunity.
“We’re trying to involve more young players in our team, sometimes young players adapting to the team is not always in our hands. Some players need more time, some need less time; some come and perform immediately,” Beganovic said.
“He[Nkosi] is a great player with great abilities and skills. I think he improved a lot since he came until now. In the future, we’re going to count on him more. We want to give him more time to show himself in the game, but when he gets game time, he needs to improve and grab that opportunity to say that I’m that player who can play and stay on the team.
“It’s on him, but what I saw from the beginning of this season, he has a great ability, he has a beautiful long ball, he understands the game. He’s a real fighter; he fights all the time. At training, I see the desire, and I think in future he can play, but it’s on him, he will have game-time until the end of the season.”
