AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane insists he has instilled a culture of humility within his squad, even as the club continues to draw praise for their recent resurgence.
Usuthu are currently enjoying a strong campaign, having advanced to the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals, where they will face Casric Stars. In the league, they occupy fifth place in the Betway Premiership, sitting just eight points behind leaders Orlando Pirates with 13 matches remaining.
The Durban-based side is now preparing for a high-stakes encounter against defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns at the Moses Mabhida Stadium tonight [19:30].
Speaking to the media ahead of the clash, Zwane explained how he manages the growing hype surrounding both himself and the club during this impressive run.
ARTHUR ZWANE EXPLAINS WHY HE DOESN’T GET CARRIED AWAY
“I am one person who will not get carried away because of what people are saying,โ said Zwane on Monday. โWe achieve something as a team, and even when we achieve, I will still make sure that I keep my foot on the ground because that’s what I teach my players.”

He added: “We are playing football for money, obviously because it’s our profession, but I want them even when they make millions tomorrow, they must still be humble.
“I have always said this is my profession, and as such, itโs never been about trying to be better than anyone else as a person. I have never sought fame; I focus on the level of competition.
โWhen you compete against your peers, there is always something to learn. I have learned a lot from many coachesโold, young, successful, and those still finding their feet. As a coach, I take things one step at a time and refuse to put myself under pressure by comparing myself to anyone but myself.
“I look at the strength of our technical team and how we complement one another. At the end of the day, it’s not about me; itโs about AmaZulu. I am not doing this job alone.”
