AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane insists he has instilled a mentality of remaining humble even when they are receiving praise for their decent run.
Usuthu are through to the Nedbank Cup quarter-final and will meet Casric Stars. They also sit fifth in the Betway Premiership, eight points below log leaders Orlando Pirates with 13 matches to play.
AmaZulu will face defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in a league encounter at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban at 19:30.
Speaking to the media ahead of the match, Zwane addressed how he has dealt with him and the club getting attention for their run.
ARTHUR ZWANE EXPLAINS WHY HE DOESN’T GET CARRIED AWAY
“I am one person who will not get carried away because of what people are saying,โ said Zwane.
โWe achieve something as a team, and even when we achieve, I will still make sure that I keep my foot on the ground because that’s what I teach my players.
“We are playing football for money, obviously because it’s our profession, but I want them even when they make millions tomorrow, they must still be humble.”

AMAZULU FC COACH INISIST HE LEARNS FROM HIS PEERS DAILY
“I have always said this is my profession. Since itโs a profession, it’s never been about who I want to be better than as a person. I have never been like that, and I have never done this for fame. Yes, this is competition level.
โEvery time you compete against your peers, I have learnt a lot from many other coaches. Old, young, successful and non-successful and coaches who are still finding their feet. So, I am one person who takes things one step at a time. I don’t want to put myself under pressure and compare myself with anyone but myself,โ he added.
“I am looking at the strength of our team, our technical team and how they complement me and how I complement them because it’s not about me at the end of the day, it’s about AmaZulu, and I am not doing this job alone.”
