Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has issued an update on his two injured players, Monnapule Saleng and Arthur Sales.
Saleng is yet to make his Masandawana official debut after arriving at Chloorkop from Orlando Pirates in January. The winger had spent the first half of this season on loan at Orbit College where he picked up a thigh injury.
That has delayed him from making his Sundowns debut as he recovers from the troubling quad. The Tshwane giantsโ fans are keen to see how Saleng fits into their system following his surprise signing.
Sales, on the other hand, has missed Sundownsโ last three games, battling fitness issues. The Brazilians striker got injured at a time when his combination with Brayan Leon was turning prolific.ย
โTHEREโS A LOT OF MISINFORMATIONโ: CARDOSO CLEARS THE AIR AROUND SUNDOWNSโ INJURY SITUATION

โIt gives me the opportunity also to comment a little bit on the situation of the injured players because I see that there are a lot of comments. Iโm obviously informed by people like the press officer and also by my assistants regarding what people speak about players and this and that,โ said Cardoso.
โThere is a lot of misinformation regarding the players that are injured or not injured, and it is very important that on the matchday, people in general take a look at the report that is press-released by our media officer.
โSo that they understand the players that can be lined up or not, because then there are a lot of arguments and discussions on players that are injured and cannot even play. There is no need for those kinds of bad thoughts, letโs say.ย
โSaleng is still injured. Itโs a situation that is obviously progressing. Letโs see when he can help the team. Also, Arthur is still out.โ
Cardoso has emphasised what they need in the positions in which they have players injured, but notes the contribution of attacking midfielder Katlego โTsikiโ Ntsabeleng.
โWhat obviously makes you understand clearly that those are positions where we need energy, we need characteristics that the two of them can bring to the team,โ the Portuguese coach went on.ย
โIโm very happy because we saw already in the [Nedbank] Cup gameโs first half that Tsiki [Ntsabeleng] was quite good. Today we saw Tsiki in a good level. Obviously, he is not Arthur.โ
