Black Leopards co-coach Sundra Govinder has explained why he believes the club has no business sitting at the bottom of the Motsepe Foundation Championship log.
Lidoda Duvha are in danger of relegation with only 13 matches to play this season. They have so far collected 12 points in the 17 matches played.
Govinder was recently appointed to take charge alongside Duncan Lechasa, with whom he also worked at Betway Premiership outfit Marumo Gallants last camapign.
The former Kaizer Chiefs development coach insists that with the kind of players Leopards have, they donโt deserve to be in the position theyโre in.
SUNDRA GOVINDER CONFIDENT OF SURVIVAL AT BLACK LEOPARDS

“I’m very confident. Look, football is played on the field. But I can tell you something, there are good players here at Black Leopards,โ Govinder told FARPost.
โIt’s just a question of players realising [that they have what it takes to perform well]. I don’t think these players deserve to be where they are and I also don’t think they realise where they are.”
Govinder also emphasised that tactical drills alone wonโt save Lidoda Duvha; instead, a complete psychological recalibration is required. He believes that for the Thohoyandou-based outfit to climb the log, the players must shed their current anxieties and rediscover their form.
“The games are running out, so what is important now is for us to get them together. People always think that when you come in, you have to fix a lot of things. But you have to fix the mind first. I can tell you that we will get out of it,” he added.
โI promise you, we will get out of it. You get one or two wins, then you gain momentum. You know, in this league, the points are so close. All of a sudden, you win five games, and then you are sitting on 27 points and someone is below you. In another five games, you are on 37 points. So now you are moving up.โ
