Chibuike Ohizu strike hands Siwelele win, Arrows, Richards Bay held

TS Galaxy against Siwelele FC in a league match

Siwelele FC returned to winning ways by defeating TS Galaxy 1-0, while Golden Arrows and Chippa United, and Orbit College and Richards Bay settled for 0-0 draws in Betway Premiership matches played on Saturday night.

At the Free State Stadium, Siwelele edged TS Galaxy, courtesy of a second-half strike from Chibuike Ohizu. Prior to this match, Siwelele FC drew 0-0 against Polokwane City FC while TS Galaxy beat Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 in a Nedbank Cup fixture, after losing 2-0 to Durban City FC.

However, both teams were slow to move out of their blocks and remained deadlocked in the first half. Siwelele FC finally broke the deadlock after 78 minutes via Ohizu. Siwelele held on and managed to snatch the win. As it stands, they have won five matches in 18 league games. They moved to 11th position, with 21 points on their tally.

GOLDEN ARROWS, CHIPPA UNITED SHARE SPOILS

At the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium, Golden Arrows and Chippa United settled for a share of spoils following a 0-0 draw. Arrows were coming off three wins, one in the Betway Premiership against Magesi FC.

They also recorded two Nedbank Cup wins over Orbit College and Stellenbosch. Chippa United themselves have been battling tooth and nail hoping to redeem themselves. They won their previous match, 3-0 over Richards Bay FC.
