Former Kaizer Chiefs stars Knowledge Musona and Khama Billiat started their 2026 campaign on a high note, winning the Castle Challenge Cup, on Sunday at Rufaro Stadium in Harare.
Musona and Billiat, turning out for the star-studded Scottland FC, helped the team win the 2026 Castle Challenge Cup, which pits the PSL title winners and Chibuku Super Cup winners.
The Castle Challenge Cup serves as the season curtain raiser. And Scottland FC, the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League winners, beat Dynamos FC, the 2025 Chibuku Super Cup winners, 5-0 to claim the cup title. They delivered a masterclass to outwit Zimbabwe’s Glamour Boys.
MUSONA BROTHERS, BILLIAT ON TARGET AS SCOTTLAND FC WIN THE 2026 SEASON FIRST SILVERWARE
The Musona brothers were in fine form as Knowledge Musona and his younger sibling, Walter Musona, combined to net Scottland FCโs third and fourth goals of the match, respectively. Their clinical finishes complemented earlier strikes from Emmanuel Ziocha and Tymon Machope, who accounted for the team’s other two goals in a dominant performance.

This victory marks a significant milestone for Zimbabwean football legends Knowledge Musona and Khama Billiat, as it is now their second trophy since making high-profile returns to the domestic top-flight league. Meanwhile, Billiat proved to be a decisive tactical substitution; after being introduced in the 60th minute to bolster the attack, he managed to add his own name to the scoresheet with a well-taken goal in the 89th minute to wrap up the result.
Hopes are already high that the former Mamelodi Sundowns man, Billiat, will turn it on after scoring one goal in the 2025 season. Simply put, Scottland FC have set an early marker of their intentions as the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season officially kicks off on March 6.
Moreover, the team known as the ‘Sundowns of Zimbabwe’ will be hoping to retain the league title, in a season when they will also participate in the 2026/27 CAF Champions League.
Dynamos will be participating in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup. Scottland FC will kick-off their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season with a date against Hardrock FC on 8 March.
Scottland FC are currently under the mentorship of former Chippa United coach Norman Mapeza. In addition, Sundowns legend Peter Ndlovu is the team manager.
The Harare-based club is also home to former Orlando Pirates forward Terrence Dzvukamanja. However, he was not in the team that beat Dynamos.
